Etimologia: o nome da espécie é uma homenagem ao seu coletor, o malacologista alemão Jens Hemmen (* – 2012)
Descrição original:
(Nordsieck, 2010): “Shell with broad and obtuse conical apical part; yellowish-brown; teleoconch whorls densely obliquely rib-striated, lower ones more densely and weakly, on the neck still more densely and in part undulate; neck rounded, basal keel and subsutural swelling indistinct or missing; aperture somewhat protruding, oval, yellowish to greyish yellowish-brown within, peristome hardly expanded; superior lamella high, rapidly lowering inwards, spiral lamella rudimentary (short and low), connected with superior lamella mostly without a curve, in part nearly missing; inferior lamella medium in position, straightly ascending, spirally within, low inwards, in front ± higher, ending on the columellar edge;
subcolumellar lamella in part visible on palatal wall; lunellar (judged from position of clausilium plate) dorsal or dorsal-dorsolateral in position, only rudiment of principal plica present (of different length, reaching to dorsal position, or indistinct to missing); clausilium plate in oblique view fully visible, reduced (filling only part of the available space), distally somewhat pointed or blunt and ± with outer corner.”
