Etimologia: O nome da espécie é uma homenagem ao Sr Bartlett, quem obteve o material tipo: ”Dois exemplares, um em bom estado, deste muito bem marcado e espécies interessantes foram obtidas pelo Sr. Bartlett” (H. Adams 1867a: 442)
