Etimologia: o nome da espécie deriva da palavra em Latim “goliath”, uma referência ao seu grande tamanho (para espécies desse gênero na América do Sul), como o gigante Golias da mitologia grega

Descrição original:

(Roosen, Hortúa Herrera & Dorado, 2025): “Shell strongly depressed, strongly carinated, pyramid shaped; with up to 4.5 flat to nearly convex whorls. Protoconch almost one whorl, with a sculpture of vague oblique scratches, white in colour. Protoconch-teleoconch transition sharp, marked by a scar. Teleoconch sculpture consists of faint growth lines and numerous minute spiral grooves that fade on younger whorls. Around 10 spiral grooves are visible on the third teleoconch whorl above the carina. Aperture triangular with a reflected, but not thickened peristome. Base of the shell also with spiral sculpture, umbilicus closed by umbilical callus. All known shells are yellowish or light orange, with a red band around the carina. The carina itself is white.”
