Etimologia: o nome da espécie é uma referência à concha, do Latim “niveus“, nevado (=snowy)

 

Descrição original:

(Nordsieck, 2005): “Shell decollated, whorls less rounded; whitish-grey to grey; teleoconch whorls densely ribbed, riblets undulating, lengthwise or incompletely white, below the suture groups of stronger white riblets alternating with non-white weakly sculptured ones, on the neck, especially the dorsal keel, riblets ± coarser; neck with weak broad basal keel and ± distinct dorsal keel, mostly higher than basal keel, ± with subsutural swelling, umbilicus open; aperture protruding, roundish-oval to oval, white to yellowish-grey inside, with expanded peristome; superior lamella high, continuous with spiral lamella by a ± marked curve, in part indistinctly elongated by its side, lamellae at the connection lowered, rarely spiral lamella nearly separated or separated (approaching superior lamella from the side), spiral lamella high;

inferior lamella ascending with a weak spiral, high inwards, in part moderately high, in front lowered on the columellar edge, slightly or not thickened and ± continued to the peristome; subcolumellar lamella descending ± beyond the lunellar, in front ± strengthened, lower end separated from lunella, in oblique view visible far inwards; lunellar dorsal-dorsolateral in position, in part dorsal, principal plica ending dorsolaterally or laterally; upper palatal plica continuous with lunella mostly by a curve, lunella arcuate, posterior lower palatal plica in part shortly developed; clausilium plate in oblique view fully visible, in part leaving a gap at the palatal side, distally ± pointed and bent outward”
