Descrição original de Symptychiella bilamellata bilamellata:

(Nordsieck, 2005): “Shell with ± attenuated apical part, whorls rounded, especially upper ones, protoconch blunt, not broader than following whorls, after first half whorl indistinctly rib-striated; yellowish-brown, in part with indistinct lighter subsutural band; teleoconch whorls densely and regularly ribbed, in part more densely on the lower whorls, riblets especially below the suture white, riblets on the neck coarser and more widely spaced, in part lengthwise white; body whorl narrowed, lamina ill-defined, neck rounded, somewhat inflated, basal keel and subsutural swelling indistinct; aperture descending, turned outward, roundish-oval to oval-piriform, yellowish-
brown inside; superior lamella of different height, short, spiral lamella rudimentary, developed as ± indistinct callosity connected with or separated from superior lamella;

inferior lamella high in position, ascending with a weak spiral, moderately high or high inwards, in front lowered on the columellar edge and ending, inner part of inferior lamella separated, but not running to the suture; subcolumellar lamella descending to the lunellar, lower end separated from lunella, in oblique view visible far inwards; lunellar dorsal-dorsolateral or dorsolateral in position, principal plica rudimentary, developed as weak plica above upper palatal plica, mostly weaker than the latter, in part indistinct;

upper palatal plica of different length, continuous with lunella by an angle, lunella hardly arcuated, in part weak or missing, posterior lower palatal plica mostly missing, if weakly developed, connected with lunella by an angle; clausilium plate in oblique view fully visible, extended into the sutural angle, in part leaving a gap at the palatal side, distally somewhat pointed, occasionally with outer corner”
