Sinônimos: Naesiotus deroyi A. G. Smith, 1972

Etimologia: o nome da espécie é uma homenagem a0 explorador, naturalista, escritor e cineasta sueco Rolf Blomberg (1912–1996). Blomberg visitou as Ilhas Galápagos e o Equador continental pela primeira vez em 1934. Durante oito meses nessa primeira expedição, ele coletou extensos espécimes biológicos para museus e instituições científicas da Suécia. Foi justamente em uma de suas expedições à Ilha de Santa Cruz (Galápagos) que ele coletou o material tipo que serviu para a descrição oficial do molusco realizada pelo malacologista sueco Nils Hjalmar Odhner em 1951
