Sinônimos: Moricandia parallela (Pfeiffer, 1857) foi considerada como uma espécie válida por  Simone (2006). Já Breure & Able (2012) considerou como sinônimo de Bahiensis occultus (Reeve, 1849). O material tipo de ambas espécies (NHMUK 1975256 e 1975256, respectivamente, depositados no Natural History Museum, London, UK) são apenas marginalmente similares um em relação ao outro e para Salvador et al 2024 as reestabeleceram como  espécies distintas
