Descrição original:

(Born, 1778 traduzido para o inglês em Eschner, 2025): “Shell broad and egg-shaped, almost equilateral, smooth, with dense co-marginal stripes. The shell is broad, egg-shaped, and flattened, nearly equilateral. The beaks are short and delicate. The lips are covered. Cardinal and lateral teeth bear the common characteristics of this genus. The surface is flesh-pink; the umbos and the interior are deep red.”
